XAT Eligibility Criteria 2023
To fill XAT application form, a candidate needs to fulfil the below-cited eligibility criteria defined by XLRI.
- Nationality: To apply for the XAT 2023, candidates must be Indian citizens. Foreign nationals can also apply for admissions to XLRI based on their GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) scores.
- Graduation: It is mandatory for XAT aspirants that they must have a 3 years bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or its equivalent in any discipline.
- Minimum Marks: There is no minimum aggregate marks required in graduation to apply for Xavier Aptitude Test 2023.
- Age: There is no upper age limit criteria to appear for Xavier Aptitude Test 2023 or XAT 2023.
- Final Year Students: if you are appearing for the final year examination, you are eligible to apply for the exam but provided that you complete graduation by June 2022 and submit the scores to the respective colleges.
- Number of Attempts: For appearing in the XAT exam, there is no limit, in simple words, there is no limit to appear the XAT. A student can take the exam number of times.
XAT 2023 Eligibility
- Candidates must possess a three years duration bachelor’s degree in any discipline or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Students who are in their final year of bachelor’s degree or awaiting the results are also eligible to apply for the XAT 2023.
- There is no minimum marks criteria for applying to the XAT exam.
- Working experts or professionals or candidates with professional degrees such as CA/CS are also eligible to apply for XAT.

XAT 2023 Registration
XAT registration will be started on the second week of August 2022 after the publication of the official notification by the Authority of the exam. XAT exam registration will complete in multiple steps such as XAT registration, XAT application form, XAT application fee submission, and many more. XAT 2023 Application process
As we discussed earlier, the application process for XAT 2023 will be completed in multiple steps, by following the below-given steps you can register for the XAT 2023.
Step 1: Registration for XAT 2023
- First, go to the official website of Xavier Aptitude Test 2023 i.e. xatonline.in
- Then register for yourself, you can find the New User Registration button on the home page.
- After filling out the proper information like your name, date of birth, city, email ID, mobile phone number etc.
- Once the registration is done, a unique registration ID and its Password will be sent to your mailbox or will be displayed on your screen, you will have to save these credentials from there.
- After successful registering, XAT aspirants will be able to proceed to further stages.
Step 2: Fill in the Application Form
- Once the registration will be done for XAT 2023, your next step is to fill in the application form.
- Now, you will have to fill in the other individual facts and information.
- Then will need to enter your educational details and Work Experience Details.
- Then you will need to select PG MBA/PGDM course (Human Resource Management (HRM), Business Management (BM), Fellow Management Program) with institutes.
- Then select 2 test centre cities for the exam.
- After satisfying all the required details for the XAT application form, you should check carefully all the points you filled in and then will need to click on submit button.
Step 3: Uploading the Documents
After satisfying all the above provided required details in XAT application form 2023, your next step towards the Xavier Aptitude Test is to upload the scanned images of your documents like your Passport-size Photograph, Signature, and Eligibility Certificate if required.
Aspirants will need to upload the scanned images of your signature, the latest passport-size coloured photograph in the prescribed format by the exam authority.
- Remember that scanned pictures of the documents should be in the prescribed format as per the official website of XAT 2023.
- After uploading the pictures, candidates will have to click on the ‘Save and Continue or submit option’ to save the application form and then move towards the final submission.

- Scanned copy of the XAT aspirants’ passport size photo, if possible with white background
- The picture should not be before three to four months.

Step 4: Payment of the application fee
- Application fee for XAT 2023 can be paid through online mode.
- XAT Application fee can be paid via Debit card, Credit card, Net banking, UPI, or online payment wallets.
- Without paying the application fee aspirants’ application forms will not be submitted.
- XAT application fees will be different for Indian and foreign students.
Step 5: Final Submit and Download the Confirmation page
After payment of the XAT application fee, candidates will need to review the application form and then submit it. After submitting the application form, a page will specify the confirmation of the submission of XAT Application 2023. XAT 2023 Exam Pattern
The Exam Pattern Xavier Aptitude Test 2023 will be set and published by the XLRI Jamshedpur, the exam conducting body.
XAT Exam Pattern 2023
- Mode: XAT 2023 will be conducted in online mode as a CBT- Computer-based test.
- Type of Questions: XAT Exam 2023 will consist of objective type of questions or MCQs.
- Sections in the Exam: There will be five sections in XAT 2023 which are divided into 2 parts Part 1 comprises 3 sections – Decision Making, Verbal and Logical Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation. Part 2 includes 2 sections – General Knowledge and Essay Writing.
- Duration: You will have 190 minutes to solve the paper.
190 minutes (3 hours 10 minutes) in which you will have 165 minutes for Part 1 and 25 minutes for Part 2
- Scoring Pattern: For every single correct answer, the applicant will get 1 mark and 1/4 or 0.25 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
- Negative Marking: 0.25 or 1/4 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- Number of Questions: There will be 101 questions in the XAT 2023, consisting of 100 MCQs and 1 subjective question.

Marking Scheme for XAT
XAT Marking scheme is the same as the previous years. In the XAT 2023, you will have 101 questions out of which 100 questions will be objective type and one question will be subjective. Candidates will be granted 1 mark for each correct answer and 0.25 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
XAT marking scheme will be as follows:
- Each correct answer will carry 1 mark and for every incorrect response, you will be charged 0.25 mark.
- There is another unique feature of the Marking Scheme in the XAT exam has might be followed in the upcoming other exams i.e. the deduction of 0.10 mark for every unattempted question after 8 unattended or ignored questions.
- Essay section is evaluated only for the PI round shortlisted candidates.
- There is no negative marking in the XAT exam for the GK section and the score of the GK section will not be considered while calculating the final score for XAT 2023.

XAT Syllabus
XLRI Jamshedpur doesn’t publish the XAT syllabus 2023 yet. XAT syllabus will be released by the exam authority of the exam and XLRI is the exam conducting body of the XAT 2023. XAT Exam Date
