CUET 2022 Overview

CUET 2022 or Central Universities Entrance Test is previously known as CUCET (Central University Common Entrance Test).  In other words, CUCET- Central University Common Entrance Test has been now replaced by CUET i.e. Common Universities Entrance Test.  CUET 2022 will be conducted by the NTA- National Testing Agency.

CUET is the entrance exam that is conducted every year for admission to the Top central Universities of the country. This exam is conducted nationally students from all over the country and from other countries can apply for this exam.

Admission to UG courses in the central universities of the country will be solely based on the CUET score. If you are seeking admission to a central university in the country you must qualify for this entrance exam. 

CUET 2022 CBT or Computer Based Test that is conducted every year. This exam is conducted for admission to the under-graduation courses at the 47 central universities in the country. This year the registration for CUET 2022 has started on 6 April 2022. 

NTA- National Testing Agency will conduct the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) for admission to the UG courses in the top 44 Central Universities and others.

CUET 2022 admission test will facilitate a single-window process for the students who are seeking admission to the Central Universities (CUs) across the country for various Under-graduation programs. Admission seekers are free to choose one or more tests in the CUET exam depending upon their eligibility at the universities interested.

A Quick Review on CUET 2022

  • NTA has released the application form for CUET 2022 on its official website.
  • CUET- Common University Entrance Test is a single window for choosing the candidates for admission to Central universities of the country.
  • There are 47 central universities that are participating Institutions of this exam.
  • After qualifying for this entrance exam you will be eligible for admission to the top 47 universities in the country.
  • There will be around 1.8 lakh seats offered for the UG courses in these central Universities.
  • The basic eligibility for appearing in the CUET 2022 exam is the 12th. If you have completed your 12th you are eligible to apply for the CUET 2022.
  • CUET 2022 will be a CBT- Computer Based Test, and the question paper will be divided into three sections.

What’s New in CUET 2022???

  • The exam name (CUCET- Central Universities Common Entrance Test) has been changed now it is replaced by Common University Entrance Test (CUET).
  • The application fee for CUET has been changed. Till last year, there was no application fee for PwD category candidates, but this year, these types of candidates or Pwd candidates have to pay the application fee that is meant for reserved category candidates.
  • This year the exam will be conducted in 13 International Cities.
  • CUET 2022 will be held in 13 languages, candidates are free to choose any of these 13 languages for applying to CUET 2022.
  • CUET Question Paper 2022 will include a compulsory language test, two domain-specific tests, and a general test this year.
  • CUET 2022 scores will be accepted by the 53 Central Universities and Private Universities, before this it was accepted by only 12 Central Universities.

Before applying to CUET 2022, Candidates are advised to check the list of CUET 2022 participating colleges and universities where they can get admissions based on their CUET scores. 

There will be a total of 44 central universities and 28 other state universities that offer the admissions to their UG or undergraduate courses through the entrance test score. The CUET examination is visualized on the basis of the recommendations of the new National Education Policy, 2020.

Each CUET participating university in 2022 will conduct its own counselling by online mode after the declaration of the entrance test result.

CUET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The basic eligibility criteria for the CUET 2022 is, that a candidate who has passed his/her 12th from a recognized university or appearing for the same is eligible for the CUET exam 2022. The eligibility criteria for the CUET will be released by the Exam Conducting body on its official website.

Candidates should check the eligibility criteria and must be needed to ensure that they are eligible for the exam or not.  This Eligibility criterion includes various parameters for different courses such as age, educational qualification, age limit, and nationality to apply for CUET 2022.   

We advise you to check thoroughly all the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. Those candidates who are willing to admission to Central universities in the country for their desired courses must check the eligibility criteria and need to ensure that they can apply for it.  

Every year, thousands of aspirants participate in the CUET entrance exam. In the last year 2021, a total of 134,722 candidates registered for CUET of which 97,416 appeared for the entrance test finally. This entrance test was held in 161 cities across the country at 308 exam centres.

CUET 2022 Eligibility Criteria  

For UG Courses

  • For applying to CUET for the under-graduation courses you must have completed your 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.  
  • 5% relaxation will be provided to the candidates in a minimum percentage who belong to the reserved category. 

For PG Courses

  • Candidates must possess a graduation degree with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. 
  • 5% relaxation will be granted to the candidates in the minimum percentage who belong to the reserved category.

CUET Eligibility Criteria for UG Courses

Central University of Kerala

For BA at Central University of Kerala      

Candidates must have at least 50% marks or equivalent in 10+2 from a recognized Board. Up to 5% relaxation in minimum marks is granted to reserved category candidates such as SC/ST. It also needs to remember that candidates should not complete 19 years of age as of July 1, 2022. 

DU (Delhi University) Eligibility Criteria       

B.Sc.

Candidates must qualify the class 10+ 2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects from a recognized board.

Candidates who are appearing for the final year of the exam are also eligible to apply. 

BBA, BMS, BBE (Bachelor of Business Economics)

Candidates must have passed class 10+ 2 in any stream from a recognized board.

Candidates who are appearing for the final year of the exam are also eligible to apply.   

Central University of South Bihar

Eligibility Criteria for Integrated BA and B.Ed.      

Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in any stream from any recognized board or university with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate for General / OBC/EWS and for the reserved category candidates a least 45% marks are required to apply.

Eligibility for Integrated B.Sc. B.Ed.

Candidates must be passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in the science stream with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology as compulsory subjects from any recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate for General/OBC/EWS category candidates and a minimum of 45% marks for SC / ST/PwD candidates.

CUET Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D. Courses

  • A master’s degree in the relevant subject in which the candidates want to pursue the Ph.D. with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate and 50% marks required for OBC candidates and 45% marks required for the SC/ST/ PwD Candidates.     
  • Candidates who have cleared UGC-CSIR JRF, NBHM, GATE, or qualified in any other national level exams do not need to appear for the entrance test they will have to register for CUET 2022.   

Jamia Milia Islamia 

BA (Bachelor of Arts)

  • Candidates must have passed class 10+ 2 in any stream from a recognized board with not less than 50% marks in aggregate or in the subject concerned.

BBA

  • Candidates must have passed class 10+ 2 in any stream from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or in the subject concerned.

B.Com

  • Candidates must have passed class 10+ 2 in any stream from a recognized board with at least 50% marks in aggregate or in the subject concerned.

B.Sc.

  • Candidates must have passed class 10+ 2 from a recognized board with not less than 50% marks in each science subject i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Mathematics.

Integrated M.Sc.
  • Candidates must be passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% of marks and should have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

Integrated MA

Candidate must be passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate for applying to MA integrated with Pondicherry University.

CUET Registration 2022

Knowing the eligibility criteria for the CUET 2022 is an important step that you must take for admission to the top Central Universities across the country. Step 1: Registration

This is the first step that you will need to take to apply for the CUET 2022 exam. For registration to CUET 2022, you will need to follow the below-given steps…

  • Candidates first need to visit the official website of NTA CUET i.e. cucet.samarth.ac.in.
  • Then click on the Register tab.
  • You will need to read the provided instruction carefully.
  • Now fill in the personal and academic details.
  • Candidates will need to enter their personal address or permanent address.
  • Then you will need to create a password of 8-13 characters long with a special character, an Upper case letter or a character, one lowercase character and one numerical value…
  • Then you will need to re-enter the password to confirm the password.
  • After this, you will need to click on the submit tab.

  • If you find any kind of mistake or an error that you have to enter mistakenly, for this you will need to click on the edit tab. By clicking the edit tab you can correct the details that you filled in wrongly.
  • To submit the registration form or application form and to proceed further click on ‘Submit and Send OTP to Mobile’.
  • After submitting the registration form, you will receive an OTP to your registered mobile number.
  • Then enter the OTP, and security PIN and press the ‘Submit’ tab for submitting the application form.

Step 3: Uploading the required scanned documents

In this stage, \you will need to upload the photo of your photograph, signature and Class 10th and Class 12th documents in the specified format and size. 

  • First, you will need to select the picture of the documents.     
  • After selecting your photo and signature, click on the ‘Start Upload’ for uploading the documents. You can also remove the documents by pressing the ‘Cancel’ tab.

Step 4: Payment of the application fee

After uploading you will need to pay the application fee for CUET 2022. Candidates can pay the Fee for CUET 2022 by online mode and can able to pay the fee by Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking/ UPI.  

Step 5: Download the registration form

When you will pay the CUET 2022 Application Fee or CUET 2022 Registration fee, you should check the complete application form and check whether the details you have entered in the form are accurate or not.

After this, you will need to click on the download application form. Your CUET 2022 Application form will be downloaded then take a printout of it and save it for further.

How to retrieve the Application password or Number of CUET 2022??

Candidates can also retrieve the ID and Password of their application form if they forgot it or lost it after filling out their applications.

The NTA or National Testing Agency provides the option of retrieving the application number or password of CUET 2022 registration. The Candidates need to follow the below steps to retrieve the CUET 2022 login details –

•          First you will need to visit the official website of NTA CUET (cuet.samarth.ac.in).

•          Then click on the “CUET UG Registration” tab.

•          You will get the option to retrieve your password or the application number for the CUET 2022 exam.

•          After this, select one of the options and enter your email address.

•          You will receive your CUET password or application number on your registered email address that you have provided at the time of application form filling.

CUET 2022 Application Correction  

You are allowed to access the correction window after submitting the application form for CUET 2022 for a limited time only. In this period you can correct the details that you have filled in wrongly.

For making any changes to your CUET Application form you will need to enter your login credentials i.e. User Id and Password.

Candidates are advised to check all the details carefully and thoroughly before submitting because when the correction window will be closed, no further changes can be made by the candidates.

CUET 2022 Exam Pattern

Candidates who are going to appear for the CUET 2022, must check the exam pattern for Common University Entrance Test 2022. In order to score well in the CUET 2022, you must aware of the exam pattern and the sections contained in the question paper.

In CUET 2022, there will be objective or multiple choice questions and you will be provided 150 minutes to solve the paper. This test will be conducted to analyse your analytical, language proficiency, and problem-solving skills.

There will be different sections for different courses in Central Universities. Candidates who wish to admission to 45+ Central Universities must need to qualify for the CUET exam and need to score well on the entrance test. The different sections and exam patterns for different courses are given here: 

Type of Question: There will be only Multiple Choice or objective type of Questions asked in the CUET examination.

Section I: Section IA and IB will consist of Language-specific questions. These types of questions will be based on the Reading Comprehension passage.

Section II: Domain-Specific Subjects will be asked in this section

Section III: In this section, there will be 60 questions on General Knowledge, General Mental Ability, Current Affairs, Numerical Ability, and Quantitative Reasoning.

Duration: The duration will be different for each section. It will be for Section I -45 minutes, Section II- 45 minutes, Section III- 60 minutes

  • First : A student can choose only a maximum of 3 languages from Sections IA and IB have taken together.

  • Second : In Section II, students can select a maximum of 6 Subjects from 27 available subjects.
  • Third : Section III for CUET 2022 will consist of the General Test. A student can take only a maximum of 9 tests in a subsequent manner –

Candidates are allowed to choose a maximum of 2 languages from Section IA and Section IB if they taken together,

A maximum of 6 domain subjects from Section II and General Test from Section III.

A maximum of 3 languages taken together from Section IA and Section IB, a maximum of 5 domain subjects from Section II and a General Test from Section III.

CUET 2022 Syllabus

CUET 2022 Syllabus will be released by the exam conducting body that is NTA- National Testing Agency. The Syllabus will be different for the courses that you want to pursue at the central university.

CUET 2022 Admit Card

CUET 2022 or Common University Entrance Exam will be conducted in the first or second week of July 2022. CUET 2022 Exam Centres

Candidates will have to choose a city in which they’ll be available to appear for the exam. They will need to choose the exam centre city at the time of filling out their application form for CUET 2022.

As per the chosen city of the Candidates, the exam authority will provide them with an exam centre for the exam. CUET exam 2022 will be conducted in around 547 CUET test centres in the country and it will also conduct in 13 cities outside the country.

This should be noted that NTA has reserved the right to change or remove the exam centres. Once you will select an exam centre city you will have to appear for the exam in the allotted exam centre. CUET aspirants will not be able to change their exam centres.

•          You should reach the test or exam centre at least an hour or 1.30 hours before the commencement of the CUET exam. 

•          Carry an original ID proof (Passport, Licence, Aadhaar etc.) of your admit card.

•          Do not forget to carry your Admit Card along with other documents such as your ID proof and 2 authorized photograph should be the same as the ones uploaded in the application form.

•          Do not carry any of these things at the exam centre like a calculator, mobile phone, iPad etc.

•          Do not carry any extra bag or luggage.  

•          Do not carry any eatable items, eatable items are not allowed.       

•          As there will be negative marking for the wrong answer so we suggest you not to answer the questions for which you are not sure. You need to be more careful while attempting any question.’

•          If possible, pay a visit to the exam centre a day or a few days before the commencement of the exam, this will help you in understanding a complete idea of the place and afterwards it will help you in saving your time. 

•          You should not engage in unfair means while attempting the questions of the CUET exam.

CUET Answer Key 2022

The answer key is provided by the exam conducting body that contains the correct answer, candidates can match their answers with it and can prepare for the further procedure. CUET 2022 Answer Key will be released by the exam authority in two-phase i.e. provisional and final answer keys.

The final answer key will be released by the exam authority after the objection window of the provisional answer key closed.

If a candidate or the candidates who would not be satisfied with the answer key provided by the exam authority, they can challenge the answer key by paying a fee of INR 200 per question. The payment of the fee to challenge answer key will be paid by the online mode through Debit/ Credit/ Net banking etc.

As per the exam conducting body, the challenge or the objection will be verified by the team of subject experts. If they found it correct, NTA will revise the answer key for CUET 2022 and will release the final answer key.

CUET Result 2022 will be prepared on the basis of revised answers to the CUET exam 2022. Candidates whose challenges will be accepted by the authority or correct will not be informed by NTA. The final answer key will be finalised by the subject experts after verifying all the objections.

CUET 2022 Cut off and Counselling

CUET Cut off 2022 will depend on the performance of the candidates. Each university under this exam will release its individual cut-off to select the students. 

CUET 2022 Counselling    

After the declaration of the CUET 2022, the exam conducting body will be released the counselling schedule for CUET Counselling.  CUET Counselling 2022 will be only open to those candidates who have qualified common university entrance exam.

In order to further the admission procedure, candidates will need to register themselves in CUET Counselling 2022. IT should be noted or keep in mind that the counselling process for participating universities will be only done by the respective universities.
