CAT or Common Admission Test is an entrance exam that is conducted for admission to MBA and PGDM courses. IT is a national level exam which is famously known as one of the largest entrance exams in India for Management courses.

CAT eligibility for the aspirants who graduated in the years 2021 and 2022
- If you are a student with āpromotion/ passā instead of āaward of marksā certificates in any of the last two years of the bachelorās program can enter the āPromotion/ Passā option in the CAT 2022 application form.
- Due to the implementation of the above point and the fact that different evaluation patterns may be followed by different institutes/ universities across the country due to the COVID epidemic, the CAT authority has decided to remove the minimum marks (45% and 50% [Or equivalent CGPA] respectively) for appearing for the CAT 2022 exam.
CAT 2022 Age LimitĀ Ā
For applying to Common Admission Test 2022, there will be no age limit. You can apply for this exam at any age but must complete the other eligibility. Ā
CAT 2022 Nationality

Educational qualification:

Marks required to apply for CAT 2022

Final Year students

Work Experience
For applying to the CAT 2022, it is not mandatory to have a work experience. In case a candidate has any work experience he will be eligible to get a preference.
Reservation
IIM- Indian Institutes of Management offers standard reservations as per guidelines of the government for the various categories of students who apply for any business management program.
Who is not eligible for the CAT 2022?
- If a candidate is in the process of completing his/her professional degree courses like CA/ CS/ ICWA without appearing for their bachelorās degree.
- If a candidate is pursuing both his/her bachelorās degree and a professional degree but has not completed yet any of these.
- If the candidate’s score in the bachelorās or UG degree is less than 50% and belongs to the general category is not eligible to apply for the CAT 2022.
- If a candidate belongs to a reserved category and has less than 45% marks, is ineligible to apply for the CAT 2022.
- If the degree of the candidate is not recognized by any of MHRD/ AICTE/ UGC, these candidates will not be considered eligible candidates for the CAT examination 2022.

Step 4: Payment of the application fee
When you will upload your scanned images of the photographs and signature and of the required documents, your next step will be to pay the required application fee. If a candidate doesnāt pay the application fee his/her CAT application form 2022 will not be submitted. CAT 2022 Exam Pattern
The exam pattern for CAT 2022 is released by the CAT exam authority on its official website. CAT Exam will consist of 66 questions on many subjects.
Common Admission Test or CAT is designed by the conducting body IIMs. Candidates who are planning to appear for the CAT exam this year must familiarise themselves with the latest CAT exam pattern. The pattern of the CAT exam is based on similar entrance exams. This entrance exam consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and is to be solved within a particular time duration.
Earlier, the CAT exam duration was 180 minutes with 100 questions but in the year 2020 or for CAT 2022, due to the covid-19 pandemic, both numbers of questions and exam duration was reduced. The number of questions was reduced to 76 and the exam duration to solve these questions was reduced to 120 minutes.
In CAT 2021, the total questions were further reduced to 66 but the exam duration of the paper was the same. This year, the exam pattern for CAT 2022 is expected to be on the same lines as the previous year.

Mode of Exam:
CAT 2022 or Common Admission Test will be conducted online as CBT mode at around 438 test centres located in 158+ major cities in the country.
CAT Exam Duration:
The duration of the Common Admission Test 2022 will be 120 minutes for the entire paper in which you will be provided 2 sections to solve.
Sectional Time Limit:
There will be 40 minutes for each section and the total sections will be 3 which are Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Aptitude (QA).
Number of Questions: The total number of questions in the exam will be 66 questions in 70-75% MCQs and 25-30% TITA-type questions.

The syllabus for the CAT 2022 exam is vast, thus the aspirants must plan its coverage in a time-bound manner.
The syllabus for the CAT exam includes three subjects that are Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Quantitative Aptitude (QA) and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR). The VARC section (Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension) of the CAT 2022 syllabus covers various topics of English Grammar, Verbal Reasoning and RC- Reading Comprehension.

Some Important topics ofĀ CAT 2022 for Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
Under this section (VARC), questions from sentence correction, vocabulary, grammar, or fill in the blanks have not appeared in the last three years in the CAT exam.
So itās not meaningful to dedicate to give extensive time to these topics because these have not been part of the questions paper.
Instead of this, the questions from the para jumble topic have become an integral part of this section. But if you want to prepare for the complete syllabus you can also prepare for those topics.
The difficulty level of the para jumbles questions has also been moderate in the past few years.
